There’s always a lot to do during the Holiday season in Portland. Whether it’s comedy shows, art shows, theater, ballet, SantaCon, other various booze related activities, there’s something for everybody. Here’s a list of different types of things to do for the next couple of weeks.
Stumptown Stages, It’s a wonderful life - A new musical adaptation of the classic Frank Capra film. This adaptation has won seven 2013 PAMTA Awards.
The Nutcracker by the Oregon Ballet Theater – This one’s a classic, and needs no introduction. As happens every year in Portland, the tickets go fast, so jump on that NOW if you’re interested in going.
Christmas in the Garden at the Oregon Garden – Take a ride on the Holiday Express through the Rediscovery Forest, check out a traditional German Christmas Market, and drink some gluhwein.
Hip Happening Arts and Crafts Holiday Bazaar – 75 local North West artisans selling unique items.
Season’s Drinking Portland PDX Distillery Tour – Take the Portland Short Bus to four different distilleries and try their seasonal spirits.
The Dandy Warhols Holiday Show at Crystal Ballroom – Two days, two venues, Dandy Warhols, holiday things, dinner, yeah check it out.
festiBUS Portland holiday, Christmas Lights Bus Tour – Also by the Portland Short Bus, the festiBUS takes you and twelve others on a ride to the PIR’s Winter Wonderland Lights, and Peacock Lane. Not to mention, three different bars.
A Christmas Carol – Charles Dickens classic comes to the Portland Stage.
Bag and Baggage It’s a (Somewhat) Wonderful Life - A comical and interesting take of Capra’s classic film. This is a nice way to mix things up around the holidays.
ZooLights – This is a Portland classic, but this year the train wont be running. Don’t be discouraged though, the Portland Zoo is promising to make up for it by making it a more immersive experience.
Posada Milagro at El Centro Milagro – From the Miracle Theater Group comes the story of Mary and Joseph seeking refuge filled with Latin American traditions. This event is a day of fun for the whole family.
SantaCon – This wonderful treat is pretty much always an adult only event. It’s hundred of people dressing up like santa and pub crawling. And it’s a blast.
