Portland Dining Month

Portland Dining Month is upon us!

March marks the start of Portland dining month and “Travel Portland” has put together an easy way for you to make the most of your meals this month!

For the entire month of March, chefs across the city invite diners to feast on special three-course meals for just $29. With more than 100 participating eateries touting cuisines from Mexican and Middle Eastern to seafood and Southern comfort, there are plenty of eats for you to enjoy.

They have listed a number of our favorite places to dine along with easy to use links to Open Table so you can make a reservation the second you stumble onto a restaurant you would like to try out! You can search by neighborhood or a specific cuisine and even by special menu options such as; Vegan, Gluten Free or Vegetarian.

Another awesome tidbit is that for every reservation made with OpenTable  a donation will be made to the Oregon Food Bank. In addition, Umpqua Bank will also be donating $500 to the Oregon Food Bank.

Get your eat on and help out the local food banks in the process, sounds like a win – win to me!

samplinglab

Like free stuff? I sure do! Check out Portland’s new SamplingLab

SamplingLab keeps about 20 brands in stock, many of them local, and plans to rotate offerings every 30–45 days—although, with a long waiting list of brands and a steady stream of consumers, those numbers could shift. After signing up online, SamplingLab members are free to get started—typically by grabbing a Widmer seasonal or Hotlips soda (also free) from the well-stocked fridge. Drinks in hand, customers browse the store, a cozily decorated living room-style space complete with overstuffed armchairs, patterned rugs, warm wooden panels and soft lamp lighting. Members peruse shelves of cocktail syrups, seafood curry, dog biscuits, and vegan body wash, pausing to read more about the products on posted signs or the Bluetooth-operated iPhone app. Having made a selection, a customer approaches the front desk, where a SamplingLab employee scans the product and emails the customer a survey link.

Some of the rules have changed from the article below but check it out for yourself!

Investing in Portland Apartments

“With a rental vacancy rate of 3 percent,” said Wendy Culverwell, in Portland Business Journal, ”Portland should be a landlord’s dream. But the City of Roses was dinged for its relatively low capitalization rate . . .”

In her article Culverwell sheds light on the Seattle-based All Property Management report, which shows even though Portland may have the second tightest apartment market, we’re still only in the middle for investing.
